“New phone, who dis?”

A new year has arrived and, once again, a new Samsung Galaxy smartphone is due for release. Samsung just announced its next Unpacked event will take place on Feb. 1, and the Galaxy S23 lineup is looking to steal the spotlight.

Samsung is now accepting reservations for the Galaxy S23 smartphone and the 2023 iteration of the Galaxy Book, which is due to be revealed at the event. Note that S23 reservations are commitment free, cost nothing upfront, and come with a $50 credit that applies directly to the cost of the phone. That credit doubles to $100 if you reserve both the S23 and the soon to be released Galaxy Book.

Leaks and rumors of the company’s new flagship smartphone have been hitting the internet recently, to no surprise. It will be interesting to see what updates over the S22 have been made to this year’s offerings. Given the pattern Samsung has followed for the last several generations, we can likely expect to see a Galaxy S23 (base model), Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra. As usual, expect the Ultra to come packed with the best tech of the three, including higher quality cameras, the largest display and the beloved S Pen stylus.

As for pricing, it has yet to be announced officially, but it is likely safe to assume that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S23 models with the same or similar pricing structure as the S22. The base S22 launched last year with a price tag of $800, while the Plus started at $1,000 and the Ultra started at $1,200.

We will know more as we progress through January. The S22 launched in January 2022. It is quite probable that the S23 will launch several weeks after the Unpacked event this February.
